The best time to post on LinkedIn, as a starting grid
The grid above opens on LinkedIn with B2B selected, because most people read LinkedIn as part of their working day. The darkest cells sit on the weekday commute and the first working hour, lunchtime and afternoon come next, and the weekend is quiet. It is a rule of thumb, not LinkedIn data. If you sell to consumers on LinkedIn, switch to B2C and the grid moves to evenings.
What LinkedIn analytics can and cannot tell you
LinkedIn shows impressions, reactions and who saw a post, on profiles and on company pages, but no chart of the hours when your followers are online. So the best time to post on LinkedIn is something you test rather than look up. Pick two weekday slots, for example early morning and lunchtime, post the same kind of content in both for three weeks, and compare impressions per post after the first day.
Personal profile or company page
The timing logic is the same for both: your readers are at work, so post where their working day has gaps. What differs is the reach. Posts from a person usually travel further than posts from a page, because people follow people. Many teams post from the founder’s profile and share to the page later.
What you actually get
A seven-day grid that opens on LinkedIn with B2B selected.
A B2C pattern one switch away, for consumer brands on LinkedIn.
A plain answer on what LinkedIn analytics does not show.
A three-week test to find your own weekday slot.
Five things that make this work better
- Post on working days. The weekend is not empty on LinkedIn, but your readers are not in work mode.
- Test early morning against lunchtime before anything else. Those two slots decide most B2B schedules.
- Stay around for the first hour after posting and reply to comments. A post with a conversation under it keeps getting read.
- Keep the same slot for a few weeks before judging it. One post per slot tells you nothing.
- Schedule in your readers’ timezone. A DACH audience and a US audience need two different schedules.

Questions people actually ask
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?
For most B2B audiences, weekday mornings: the commute and the first working hour, with lunchtime as a second window. Weekends are quiet. Treat that as a start and test it, because LinkedIn does not show when your own followers are online.
What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?
A working day, Monday to Friday. The grid treats the weekdays alike on purpose: which one wins depends on your audience, and you find it with a test, not in a chart.
Does LinkedIn show when my followers are active?
No. LinkedIn analytics shows impressions, engagement and audience details for each post, but no active-hours chart like Instagram or TikTok. That is why the three-week test matters more here.
What if I sell to consumers on LinkedIn?
Switch the grid to B2C. It then shifts to evenings and weekends, which is the rule of thumb for consumer audiences on any app.
Can MyTrendView schedule LinkedIn posts?
