Know the mood first

A trend going up and a trend going well are not the same trend. The comment section is where the two separate.

Velocity is blind to mood

A topic can climb precisely because people are angry about it, and every graph in every trend tool draws the same encouraging line. Brands that post into that line find out in their own comment section, which is the expensive place to learn it.

What actually gets read

We read the comment sections under the videos and threads carrying the trend, not a keyword sweep, and split them into positive, neutral and negative. You get a proportion rather than a label, because 55% positive with 30% negative is a different bet from 62% positive with 14% negative, and one word calls both of those “good”.

Positive
62% Positive24% Neutral14% Negative

A bad reading is not a stop sign

Negative usually means there is a real complaint sitting under the topic. The video that names the complaint out loud tends to beat the one that rides the trend cheerfully. Sentiment tells you which of those two you are about to film.

What you actually get

A positive / neutral / negative split per trend, as percentages.

On every plan.

A worked example

Subscription price rises in fitness apps

Reddit

For a gym or a coach this is a gift, but only if you read the room first. The split is 31% negative and the anger points at apps, not at training. A video that says so lands. A cheerful one collects the anger instead.

Hook

“Your fitness app raised its price again. Here is what it does that a notebook does not.”

Questions people actually ask

Which comments are read?

The comment sections under the videos and threads actually driving the trend, not a general keyword sweep.

Does it work in German and Ukrainian?

Yes. Sentiment is read in the language the comments are written in.

Should I avoid every negative trend?

No. Negative sentiment usually points at a real complaint, and naming it honestly tends to beat riding the trend cheerfully.

Is this the same as social listening?

Narrower and closer to a decision. Listening tools track mentions of your brand; this reads the mood of a topic before you post about it.
